Hello! I’m Greg, a novelist based in Brighton, UK, where I’ve lived for over half my life. Throughout my creative career, I have written print and online magazine articles for news and gaming sites, and created a magazine for Mensa. I also co-produced and co-presented an award-winning gaming show that aired worldwide on Amazon Video. This novel is my first full-length work of fiction and the start of a planned trilogy.
The idea for the book came to me in the most clichéd yet heartfelt way: I woke from a dream with the plot and opening chapters fully formed and practically begging me to write them down. One murmured synopsis to my sleepy but supportive partner, and a new passion was sparked. Within days, the story began to develop—and eventually grew into the book you are hopefully considering purchasing.
When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me gaming (video or board — I don’t discriminate) or planning my next adventure abroad with a book in hand. I grew up on a steady diet of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Terry Pratchett, and more recently I’ve been inspired by Stephen Fry’s wit, Richard Osman’s humour, and — perhaps the most impactful — Aaron Sorkin’s masterful use of language and rhythm on screen.
I like to keep my stories sharp, engaging, and a little playful — much like my approach to life. If you enjoy novels that combine suspense, character, and a love of language, I think we’ll get along just fine.
